John Rice Irwin – Anderson County Chapter Events

John Sevier Day at Marble Springs is September 19 and 20. Sons participation is encouraged.

The John Rice Irwin – Anderson County Chapter plans to set up a Revolutionary Period tent at the Museum of Appalachia Homecoming Festival, October 8-11. We will man a table to provide information about the Society.

The Overmountain Victory Trail Association (OVTA) march is from Abingdon, VA, September 23 to Kings Mountain, October 7. Gerry Mustin will participate and provide information.

October 10 is Clinton Fall Festival and Antique Day. Lynn Fox will perform a reenactment of the Burr-Hamilton Duel and request assistance from Society members.

The JRI – AC Chapter will have their Banquet and Annual Meeting on October 27.

On Saturday, November 7 at 1:00 PM the John Rice Irwin – Anderson County Chapter will sponsor a Veterans Day Parade and Program in Clinton, Tennessee.

The Veterans Day Parade in Knoxville will be 11:00 AM Wednesday November 11.

August BOM Meeting

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

The Board of Managers meeting was held on Thursday, August 20.

The Tennessee Society 2010 Annual Meeting and Washington’s Birthday Celebration will be held at the East Tennessee Historical Society on Saturday, February 20.

Next summer, 2010, the membership will meet at Club LeConte on Saturday, July 17.

A proposal to publish a membership roster with addresses and phone numbers was discussed. The details will be published in the October Rifleman.

The General Society Triennial Meeting in California was discussed. Tennessee Past President Terry Davenport will be nominated to be the next General Society President. Tennessee will sponsor the opening reception at a cost of $3,500. Some money is available to defer expenses of those delegates who need it.
