Tennessee Society Annual Meeting

The Tennessee Society, Sons of the Revolution will hold their annual meeting a the East Tennessee History Center on Saturday, February 25. Tennessee Representative John D. Reagan will be the keynote speaker.

Massing of the Colors

The Tennessee Society, Sons of the Revolution will participate in the Massing of the Colors Ceremony and Memorial Service at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, April 21 at Second Presbyterian Church, 2829 Kingston Pike. The color guards will pass in review at 10 a.m., and a memorial service will immediately follow the parade.

The ceremony and memorial service are open to the public This annual ceremony assembles color guards representing military, veteran, patriotic, Scouting and civic organizations - which provide a living tribute to American heritage and those who died helping to preserve freedom.

The  Kiwanis Club will serve a pancake breakfast at the church prior to the ceremony. Tickets for the breakfast are $5.00. Additional donations will be accepted. Proceeds go to the club's community service project fund.

Sevier County History/Genealogy Fair

There is a history/genealogy fair in Sevier County @ The King Family Library this coming weekend. Thursday 12-3 is a walking tour of Sevierville & 3-5 a speaker & book review session. Friday 11-8 is a genealogy fair upstairs on the 3rd floor in their history section. Repeated on Saturday 10-4. We have been invited to set up a display/table on these 2 days to attempt to recruit members for the TN Society Sons of the Revolution and for the John Sevier Chapter (if any persons are interested in having an association with a local Chapter).

David Whaley will be there both days. Are you free on either/both of these days to join him? Let David know via email. He will try to work out a schedule minimizing your week end encroachment.
